Have a few days off with a fantastic weather window. It’s been a couple years since I’ve hit Sahale, however, due to almost certain capacity issues for permitting I was forced to drive up Thursday night (one day before the departure date) to obtain a permit….then drive ALL THE WAY back to Bellingham. Ultimately departed Bellingham about noon on Friday. We were on foot by mid afternoon and Arrived at the Sahale glacier morraine by dusk. Unfortunately we were met by a serious electrical storm that had just moved in. We THREW up the tent immediately before the rain hit. Lightning was immediately over head. Dinner after the storm had passed, however, my hair was still standing straight up and (although you might not believe it) my titanium spork was literally buzzing….NOT KIDDING.

Climbed Sahale Peak the next day with ease. We didnt bring any rock protection for the 4th class scramble, however, in retrospect I believe we actually did a low 5th class climb up the face. BEAUTIFUL SUNSETS! Was awoken by a goat walking immediately passed the rock wall surrounding the tent.

I took a number of Spherical Panos & Gigapixel Shots.
